With deference to the genius of David Bowie, here’s Space Oddity, recorded on Station. A last glimpse of the World.

Huge thanks in the making of the video to the talented trio of Emm Gryner, Joe Corcoran and Andrew Tidby, plus Evan Hadfield and all at the CSA.

Commander Chris Hadfield continues to bring amazing things to the internet. Follow him on Tumblr & Twitter!

I had the most style back when my mom would dress me. Thanks Mom! Happy Mother’s Day!

(Me, mom & Grandpa way, way back when.)

Happiness is some cold brew coffee, homemade zucchini bread, and a new book in the backyard. #vscocam

MS MR - “Hurricane” (CHVRCHES Remix)

Really digging this CHVRCHES remix. The new MS MR album drops next week, but you can stream it right now on The Hype Machine: MS MR - Secondhand Rapture

Google’s Earth Engine is amazing and eye-opening. Above are timelapse gifs of the Columbia Glacier Retreat (one of the fastest moving glaciers in the world, in 2001 it was retreating nearly 100 feet per day), Lake Urmia in Iran (now, due to its high salinity, no longer sustains any fish species), deforestation of the Brazilian Amazon, and expansion of the Dubai coast.

Earth Engine was made possible thanks to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) & NASA’s Landsat program, which was started in 1972 and is the longest running enterprise for acquisition of satellite imagery of Earth.

Click around. We’ve all heard the numbers: since 1970, we have lost 745,289 km² the Brazilian rainforest, and from 1980-2011, the Columbia Glacier has retreated a total of over 12 miles — but seeing timelapse footage really puts the scale of it in perspective.

Balmorhea - “Pyrakantha”

Gorgeous tune & gorgeous video. Los Angeles, I love you.

(Because I’m sure you’re wondering: that house with the chandelier-filled tree is in Silverlake.)

My brother just got season tickets to the Dodgers. This is what two seats to 67 games looks like.
